This was not at all easy to paint - weird angles. Started out watercolor and ended up mixed media. Actually, that would be a good name for the painting. Anyway, it's my offering for today. UUUUgghhh
My name is Barbara Smock - Babs for short. I am a collected, galleried, award winning British equine artist. Growing up in England, horses were a big part of my life. I moved to the U.S. in my early 20's and my passion for horses was put on hold for a few years while I raised a family. In 1996, my husband open that old Pandora's box, buying me my first horse. Can't have just one, so moved to new acreage and started a small Arabian Horse Farm.
In 2003, I sold some of my watercolors locally and on eBay. Thrilled with the response, I continued to paint, while balancing a full time job, family,and farm. Taking early retirement from my job in 2005, I turned professional, listing with the Arkansas Artist Registry, and joining the Spring River Art Gallery.
