I was asked to put up an art show for the first Decade Celebration at ASU Newport Campus. Lots going on that day ! The paintings were scattered on easels around the large room. Artist Tim did caricatures and I helped with face painting for most of the day. We probably had about 2000 people touring the campus.
Most of my work is of the equine variety, but there was also landscapes and a couple of portraits.
My Brother Peter and his wife Margaret were visiting so I put them to work setting up the paintings.

iPad drawings - experimental
Couple sitting in Front # 1 sketch
I was 'gifted' with an iPad 2 last week. Didn't think I needed one and never would have bought one, but now that I have started to use it I've decided it may be the missing link .
I usually don't cart along a sketch pad, pencil and eraser along as a boredom cracker at the doctors office, on long car rides, and for all of those 'got to sit on the couch and pretend to watch TV' times'. Pencils get lost, they leave your fingers shades of grey, and where is that sharpener ?
So, for times when I'm not at my desk sketching something out, I have my trusty iPad. The apps I have used are free ones. Drawing free, and Draw Free. I think I'm also going to like iPastels.

New Daily Paintings
Three recent paintings.
'Chico' Mostly watercolor, this 8" x 10" is of our fuzzy miniature colt, born last year. I have painted little Chico inside bubbles, on bookshelves, and mixing cakes. Here he is, just being himself.
Sweet Pea. A quick little oil from a photo taken last year. She is now a year old and ives on our farm in Hardy Arkansas.
'Working Girl'. This harnessed beauty was one of a team, pulling a little sleigh full of kids in Loburg Park in Hardy Arkansas during Founders Day celebrations. Watercolor

My brother's 60th birthday is coming up next month so I painted the family pet for him. Dennis Hopper has the run of the house, and so far has evaded the cook pot......
